Description: This trip is good as a snowshoe or shoulder-season hike. The trip starts at
the first access road (gated) south of the intersection at Butcher Lake (west of the Shell
Plant). Hike up the road to the base of the ridge, then ascend the ridge. To return, drop
northward to the Pincher Creek valley and circle back to the starting point (do not descend all the way down). Some route-finding and bushwhacking are required at lower elevations.
